Virtuality TV Series “Fan Support” Page

Virtuality was filmed as a TV pilot, intended to launch a series. However, this “pilot” has now aired on FOX as a “TV Movie” and no network has picked it up for series production. In recent articles both co-creators have stressed this should be viewed as a start to a series and suggested strong response from viewers/fans would be required:

"Maybe we can send sunglasses to Peter Rice or something. (Laughs.) Or camp outside Mark Stern's house or send some letters. But it would be fabulous if there was a chance to continue the story of this show because it's a great show." - "I can say if a lot of people watch it and like it, and make their feelings known whether it's writing a letter to Peter Rice, or even better, to someone like Mark Stern at the Syfy Network, who really does love the show."

Ronald D. Moore-
“this will always be a pilot. I know that Fox calls it a movie, but this is a pilot. It ends with the setup for a series. That's how it should be viewed.” - “It depends on ratings, demographics, word of mouth,” he says. “Sometimes these things have a bigger life that blossoms after broadcast.”

For those fans who might wish to show their support, I’ve put together this list of contacts and the ways to do so. It should be noted that real letters and postcards have been shown to carry much more weight than emails. So, while it is fine to send an email - considering it an adjunctive act.

Forum member Brooke Lynn has suggested sending postcards with a space theme - “pictures of Earth, the sky at night, the NASA space shuttles, Milky Way, planets, etc.” which you can probably find at your local stationary store or purchase from Amazon.

If you don’t wish to send a postcard then simply type/write a letter. Just remember to be polite, be brief, and make it personal!

-Talk about it, blog about it: Tell your friends to watch online. If you have a website, blog or an account at a social networking site (such as Facebook - see sidebar, Twitter, MySpace, etc) then be sure to post an entry about the show and direct them to view it on HULU or FOX On Demand. Also, Link back to this page, so they can help support the effort, as well.
